Business Terms and Conditions

Please read through our terms and conditions carefully.

You may have been asked to sign this document following a welcome meeting, to ensure you have read
our terms and conditions.

Once you have read the below, please fill in the details.

1: General

1.1 In this document we will refer to you as ‘The Customer’ and us, Cat Sitters of Knutsford as ‘The Business’.

1.2 All bookings made by The Customer are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 The Terms and Conditions may be changed from time to time at the discretion of The Business and this page will be updated accordingly.

1.4 The Business will treat personal information supplied by The Customer confidentially and will not pass these details on to third parties, excluding Cat Sitters employed or contracted by The Business, without explicit consent of The Customer.

1.5 Personal details supplied by The Customer may be stored in CRM systems, only used by The Business.

1.6 The definition of ‘Services’ for The Business is cat sitting.

1.7 On initation of The Business providing services to The Customer, these terms and conditions are automatically applied and accepted by The Customer.

2: Services

2.1 In consideration of the services and as an express condition thereof, The Customer explicitly waives and releases The Business from any and all claims against The Business, its owners, employees and representatives, with the exception of those arising from negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of The Business.

2.2 Where possible, The Customer has the ability to choose the Cat Sitter designated to their booking. However, The Business reserves the right to substitute the chosen Cat Sitter at their discretion for any bookings. This can be in relation for a full booking, or single visit within a booking. 

2.3 All Cat Sitters employed by and representing The Business are insured and DBS checked.

2.4 The Customer is responsible for notifying The Business of new cats that require care, on existing and new bookings. The Business reserves the right to amend a booking due to the changes made, including include reviewing the price of the booking and Cat Sitter assigned.

2.5 The Customer is responsible for supplying the following, but not limited to: food, water, heating, litter, cleaning supplies and toys (where applicable). Where The Business is required to purchase additional supplies, this will be charged at cost price to The Customer, with proof of purchase and payment is due immediately.

2.6 The Customer is responsible for administering flea and worm treatments to the cat(s), which must be done before the start of the booking.

2.7 The Customer is responsible for ensuring the cat(s) in their home are up to date on vaccinations, which must be done before the start of the booking.

3: Payment

3.1 On confirmation of services, The Business will issue an invoice to The Customer, detailing the services to be provided, the cat(s) to be cared for and the full cost of the booking.

3.2 A 10% deposit is to be paid by The Customer and is due within 7 working days after the booking is confirmed.

3.3 The remaining 90% payment, is due no later than 8 days prior to the booking start date. Failure to make payment may result in the cancellation of the booking.

3.4 The Business will review its prices annually, usually on 1st December, which will be updated on the website accordingly.

3.5 The Business accepts payment by bank transfer only, the details of which are provided on the Invoice.

4: Cancellations

4.1 The Business reserves the right to refuse or cancel their services at any time, for any reason at their discretion.

4.2 The Customer acknowledges the following charges in relation to their booking, if The Customer cancels the booking and has part paid, or paid in full:

  • 7+ days’ notice: You will receive a full refund for the cancelled booking.
  • 3 days’ notice: You will receive a 75% refund for the cancelled booking.
  • 1 day notice: You will receive a 50% refund for the cancelled booking.


4.3 If The Business cancels the booking, The Customer will receive a full refund for the booking that was cancelled, if The Customer has part-paid or in full.

5: Insurance and Liability

5.1 The Business has insurance provided by Protectivity. The Customer can request further details about the insurance. The insurance that covers The Business does not cover anything outside of providing its Services.

5.2 The Customer is responsible for insurance to cover their cat(s) and property.

5.3 In the event of a cancellation either by The Customer or by The Business, The Business does not accept liability for any losses that may occur.

5.4 It is the responsibility of The Customer to provide The Business with all the details necessary for The Business to provide its Services.

5.5 The Customer will indemnify The Business against any claims for loss or injury caused to a Cat Sitter or their property, caused by the cat(s) or as a result of a breach in the terms and conditions listed in this document, negligence or otherwise.

5.6 The Business is not liable for any complications that may arise from The Business administering medication to The Customer’s cat(s).

5.7 The Business is not responsible or liable for any sickness, injury, escape, accident or death of The Customer’s cat(s), unless caused by negligence, or wilful misconduct, during the booking duration.

6: The Customer’s Property

6.1 The Customer will secure their property prior to leaving. The Business will continue to secure the property for the duration of the booking.

6.2 The Business is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of but not limited to a burglary or crime that should occur during the booking and thereafter.

6.3 If during the booking duration, The Business is unable to access The Customer’s property, The Business will make every attempt to contact The Customer and/or their emergency contact to agree alternative access. If no alternative is possible, The Business will arrange for a locksmith to gain entry to the property. If The Business is at fault, there will be no charge to The Customer for the locksmith. If The Customer is at fault, this will be charged at cost price to The Customer, with proof of purchase and payment is due immediately.

6.4 The Customer gives The Business and its employee’s or representatives permission to enter The Customer’s property and provide its Services. The Business will inform The Customer of its employee’s or representatives who will be entering the property.

6.5 The Business will leave the property as found.

6.6 The Customer will not subject The Business to any additional cleaning duties, outside the normal scope of services provided by The Business.

7: Emergencies

7.1 In the event of an illness or injury during the booking duration, The Business will make every attempt to contact The Customer and/or their emergency contact.

7.2 The Business will take The Customer’s cat(s) to their or an alternative Vet (as detailed in the Veterinary Release form) and will remain with the cat(s) for the duration of the appointment. The Business will also take life-saving measures where deemed necessary, outside of the Vet.

7.3 Where medication is prescribed, following an emergency Vet appointment, The Business will administer this to the cat(s). The Business is not liable for any complications that arise as a result of this.

7.5 The Customer accepts full responsibility for all medical and non-medical expenses accrued during the duration of the booking. Payment for medical expenses are to be made directly to the Vet. Payment for non-medical expenses is to be made to The Businessthis will be charged at cost price to The Customer, with proof of purchase and payment is due immediately.

7.4 Where an emergency occurs within the home, such as but not limited to burst pipes or power-cuts, The Business will make every attempt to contact The Customer and/or their emergency contact.

7.5 In the event of an emergency outside of the control of The Business and The Customer, such as a natural disaster, The Customer gives their explicit consent to The Business to use reasonable judgement for both the cat(s) and provision of Services. The Business is not liable for any damage or loss as a result.

8: Marketing

8.1 Unless prior withdrawl of consent is given, The Business reserves the right to use images and video taken at The Customer’s property on their online marketing channels, including but not limited to the website, Facebook, Instagram and Google Business Profile.
